First, we identify the source and severity of the odor. Then, the carpet or rug is thoroughly rinsed and extracted with a hot water rinse to remove most of the urine crystals.
In more severe cases, we may carefully pull back the carpet to assess the damage underneath. If needed, the padding will be removed and replaced, and an odor-blocking treatment may be applied to the subfloor.
Next, P.U.R.T.® is applied generously to all affected areas—including the carpet backing, subfloor, baseboards, and tack strip. Over the next 24 to 36 hours, it breaks down the odor-causing compounds to remove the smell at its source.*
